Sr. WebSphere /Mainframe Engineer (Remote)

Overview:

• Tier One Technologies is looking for a Sr. WebSphere Engineer/Admin with z/OS Mainframe experience to support our US Government client.
• This is a 100% remote contract-to-hire position.
• SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

• Provide WebSphere / Apache Administration and environment management.
• Install and configure WebSphere Application Server, IBM WebSphere and HTTP servers on z/OS environment.
• Work with Security and system Teams to enable Security on WebSphere and Mainframe self-service for Mainframe users.
• Set up WebSphere optimized local adapters (WOLA) connection on WebSphere z/OS.
• Tune up WebSphere Application Server to run Java Batch workloads.
• Apply WebSphere Application Server fix packs.
• Perform WebSphere MQ changes on z/OS and hands on MQ OC panels.
• Configure IBM ODM Rule Execution Server on WebSphere Application Server for z/OS.
• Open Service Requests/PMRs and closely worked with IBM on issues.
• Troubleshoot WebSphere application server issues.
• Define WLM Service and Transaction classes for WebSphere z/OS.
• Perform scripting for automated deployment and software installation.
• Work on MQ and WAS Integration and be familiar with Bindings and Client mode.
• Work with Global Security, SSL, SAF Keyrings and Hardware Cryptography.
• Perform infrastructure architecture design from Development through Production.
• Install resource adapters and enabling WOLA.
• Deploy Java EAR files.

• Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience is preferred. 14+ years of technical experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
• Strong experience with object-oriented applications and working with multiple technologies such as relational or object-oriented databases, or other processing such as WebSphere, Apache, IIS, network management and internet technologies such as HTTP, HTML5, CGI, and SSL.
• Experience in WebSphere, Apache, and Portal Server environment administration.
• Proficiency in WebSphere / Apache Administration and environment management.
• Strong experience with WebSphere application server on z/OS, IBM MQ and WebSphere web server.
• Strong experience with UNIX shell script development and proven ability to build and execute plans for batch cycle processing.
• Experience with security, RACF working with operations, application development teams.
• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, HTML5, and other front-end languages.
• Experience with various server and log monitoring tools (IBM QRADAR, Splunk, etc.).
• Experience with DB2.
• Strong knowledge of Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and WebSphere.
• Knowledge of Markup Language (XML) and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) is preferred.
• Hands on experience with MQ z/OS and familiar with MQ Explorer, MQ z/OS Panels.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
• Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
• Be able to pass a drug screening, criminal history, and credit checks.
• Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
• Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members).
