Overview:

APPOINTMENT TYPE: Full-Time Temporary (FTT-D)

 

LOCATION: Remote (U. S. Based Locations)

 

*SALARY RANGE: $150,072 - $262,600 

 

ORAU is seeking a Fully Remote, Senior Advisor, to work with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) as an ORAU employee.

 

The Senior Advisor will support the overall work of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid innovation (CMMI). This Advisor role will serve as a consulting subject matter expert strategy and policy development, leading value-based payment programs and leading state-based Medicaid programs. This position requires a results-driven healthcare executive. The candidate must be experienced in strategy and policy development, and implementation. Candidate must have experience leading value-based payment programs. Must also have senior leadership experience leading state-based and Medicaid programs. This exciting work will last one or more years, and the successful candidate will become a temporary employee of ORAU assigned to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation (CMMI). This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, remote.  

 

CMMI was established by Congress in 2010 to identify ways to improve health-care quality and reduce costs in the Medicare, Medicaid, and Children’s Health Insurance (CHIP) Program. Following this charge, CMMI, through its models, initiatives, and Congressionally mandated demonstrations, has accelerated the shift from a health care system that pays for volume to one that pays for value. CMMI models are also researching and testing different approaches to innovative information technology systems which are essential to supporting this value transformation.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide subject matter expertise and reviews proposed policies or changes in operations to assess the impact on current and future program decisions.
  • Review quantitative and qualitative data and analyses to interpret how alternative approaches to payment impact health and cost outcomes.
  • Participate in discussions with CMS and HHS components regarding policy development and mechanisms related to payment administration, service delivery implementation, and population health improvement.
  • Serve as the principal advisor to the Center Director and Deputies on requirements and issues associated with prevention and population health, utilizing subject matter expertise.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Business Administration with 20+ years experience. 
    • Experience leading large-scale transformation processes to ensure organizational readiness.
    • Demonstrated ability to respond rapidly to unexpected obstacles and take decisive action based on data-driven insights and feedback from the stakeholder community.
    • Experience leading an organization-wide restructuring initiative to align business units and IT/Data teams under same organizational objectives.
    • Experience leading the design and implementation of value-based partnerships with regional and national payers.
    • Must have experience leading cross-functional teams.
