THE ROLE

AG1 is seeking a talented and visionary Director, Copy to lead our team of copywriters and shape the voice of the brand across all platforms. Reporting to the VP, Creative, this role will oversee the development of high-quality, compelling copy that resonates with our audience, enhances brand recognition, and drives business growth. The Director, Copy will collaborate closely with creative, marketing, and brand teams to ensure consistency and innovation in messaging across all channels and campaigns.

This is a unique opportunity for a strategic thinker with a passion for storytelling and brand voice development, capable of transforming concepts into clear, persuasive, and engaging copy.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop a comprehensive copy strategy that aligns with the overall brand vision of AG1, ensuring a unified voice across all channel and campaign.
  • Lead and mentor a team of copywriters, ensuring their work aligns with the brand's voice, tone, and overall strategy – and produces high-quality, impactful copy.
  • Exhibit exceptional copywriting, editing and proofreading skills, ensuring all content is polished, engaging and on-brand.
  • Own the development of copy across a wide range of channels, including digital, social media, email marketing, web content and print.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, creative, and design teams to deliver cohesive and impactful messaging that supports key campaigns, launches, and initiatives.
  • Partner with Product and Legal teams to ensure all copy adheres to legal and ethical standards, maintaining brand integrity and compliance.
  • Ensure brand consistency by maintaining and evolving the brand voice across all communication touchpoints, while adapting the tone to different audiences and formats.
  • Drive innovation in copy, staying on top of trends in the industry and constantly refining approaches to connect with consumers more effectively.
  • Review and edit content produced by the team to maintain high standards of quality, clarity, and engagement.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate copy that aligns with marketing goals, enhances customer experience, and drives conversion.
  • Manage workflows and deadlines for the copy team, ensuring timely and effective delivery of projects.
  • Measure and analyze the performance of copy-driven initiatives, using insights to guide future strategies and optimizations.
  • Set prioritization for the team, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement within the copy team, encouraging innovation and professional growth.
  • Provide strong copywriting justment and a clear point of view to guide the team and elevate brand messaging.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 10+ years of experience in copywriting, with a focus on digital, social, and integrated campaigns.
  • Proven experience in leading copy teams and developing compelling brand messaging.
  • Mastery in crafting and delivering compelling copy with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire a team to deliver their best work.
  • A deep understanding of brand strategy, tone of voice, and storytelling.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple formats and platforms.
  • Experience in working closely with creative and marketing teams to ensure integrated and cohesive messaging.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • A growth mindset and a passion for pushing creative boundaries to continuously improve performance and engagement.
  • Agility in fast paced environments, with a proven ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex problems and drive innovation within copy.

AG1 is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $140,000 - $175,000 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles.
