The Manager of Payment Systems and Processing will lead and oversee the end-to-end operations of the organization's payment systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of payment technologies, transaction processing, compliance, and risk management. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to ensure seamless, efficient, and secure payment operations, contributing to a superior customer experience and the company’s financial health. 

What you’ll do & how you’ll make your mark.

Leadership & Strategy: 

  • Develop and execute strategies for optimizing payment processing systems and workflows. 
  • Lead a team of payment processing specialists, providing coaching, guidance, and performance management. 
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to drive continuous improvement. 

Payment System Management: 

  • Oversee the implementation, operation, and maintenance of payment processing systems. 
  • Collaborate with IT, finance, and product teams to integrate payment solutions with organizational platforms. 
  • Identify and resolve issues in payment workflows to minimize downtime and transaction errors. 
  • Ensure Chargeback disputes rates are within guidelines 

Compliance & Risk Management: 

  • Ensure all payment processing activities comply with relevant regulations, such as PCI DSS, AML, and other industry standards. 
  • Develop and enforce risk mitigation strategies, fraud detection measures, and security protocols. 

Vendor & Partner Relations: 

  • Manage relationships with payment processors, banks, and other financial partners. 
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to achieve cost efficiency and superior service levels. 

Performance Monitoring & Reporting: 

  • Establish KPIs and metrics to evaluate system performance and team effectiveness. 
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on payment processing trends, issues, and opportunities. 

Customer Experience: 

  • Work closely with customer support teams to address payment-related inquiries or issues. 
  • Ensure that payment systems support a seamless and user-friendly customer experience. 

Who you are & what you’ll need to succeed. 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5–7 years in payment systems, transaction processing, or a related role. 
  • Proven experience in a managerial or leadership position. 

Skills: 

  • Strong understanding of payment processing technologies and platforms. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (PCI DSS, AML, etc.). 
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with payment gateways, merchant accounts, or fintech solutions. 
  • Familiarity with emerging payment methods like cryptocurrencies, mobile wallets, or instant payments.

The target compensation range for this position is $105,000 to $150,000/annually. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to: candidate’s qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience, as well as internal equity and market conditions.
