Job description

Joining Collibra’s Product Design Team team

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Design Operations Manager to join a product design team working on an enterprise SaaS platform. Reporting directly to the Director of UX, you will be responsible for streamlining and optimizing the design workflow, facilitating collaboration between cross-functional teams, and driving the execution of design initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, a deep understanding of design methodologies and processes, and the ability to implement strategies that enhance productivity and quality within the design team.This is a hybrid mode, based in Prague.

Product Design Operations Manager at Collibra is responsible for
  • Design Process Optimization
    • Develop, implement, and refine design processes to ensure efficiency and consistency across projects.
    • Establish and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Project Coordination
    • Coordinate and manage design projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, resources, and quality standards are met.
    • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Resource Management
    • Allocate design resources effectively to meet project demands and priorities.
    • Identify and address resource gaps, including helping hire and onboard new team members.
  • Tool and Technology Management
    • Evaluate, implement, and manage design tools and technologies that enhance the team’s productivity and collaboration.
    • Ensure the design team is trained and proficient in using these tools.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between the design team and other departments, such as product management, engineering, and marketing.
    • Act as a liaison to ensure alignment and transparency across teams.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting
    • Monitor and report on design team performance, including project progress, milestones, and outcomes.
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance team performance.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure the highest quality of design deliverables through review and feedback processes.
    • Implement systems to track and maintain design consistency and excellence.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the design team, fostering a culture of innovation and growth.
    • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to keep the design team ahead of the curve.
You have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in design operations, project management, or a similar role within a design or creative environment for an enterprise platform.
  • Strong understanding of design processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Ability to understand complex programs, scope and prioritize projects, define schedules, and work independently.
  • Experience in streamlining design workflows, identifying bottlenecks and implementing efficient solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and design tools.
    e.g., Figma, Atlassian suite(Confluence, Jira), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets)
  • Ability to program or script Google Sheets and customize Confluence pages is a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
  • You must have work authorization to work in Prague, CZ.

  • Familiar with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Able to easily adapt to evolving processes and technologies within the workplace .
  • Proactive in managing risks and resolving roadblocks to accelerate design timelines.
  • Able to leverage project management best practices to increase efficiencies in delivery while retaining quality.
  • Experienced with balancing user needs, company strategy and technical constraints when scoping and managing projects.
Measures of success
  • Month 1 
    • Deep dive into onboarding, understanding our products, target users and business goals
    • Get to know the team and our partners across the organization
    • Evaluate existing design and development workflows, identify bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Month 3
    • Defining and implementing improvements to streamline design workflow, processes and project tracking automation
    • Developing and implementing a process for receiving design requests and prioritizing them
    • Starting to scope and manage several projects
  • Month 6 
    • Defining metrics to measure team performance 
    • Tracking team capacity to inform resource planning
    • Implementing a process to track design quality and consistency
