It's Magic.

Some say magic’s not real. Others say it’s a trick. But we know better. At Cisco Meraki, magic is created by the energy and passion of our employees, who shape our dynamic community and empower us to problem-solve for our customers. We experience magic all the time and see it unfold when something complex unexpectedly becomes intuitive, when technology works the way it was intended, or when everyone is valued for who they are. When our employees have the autonomy to make an impact, Meraki can accomplish our mission of connecting passionate people to their mission by simplifying the digital workplace.

Why Cisco Meraki

Cisco Meraki, a division of Cisco Networking, is a cloud-managed IT company and leader in cloud-controlled Wi-Fi, routing, and security. Our intuitive platform enables organizations of all sizes to deliver customer and employee experiences at scale. To provide best-in-class technologies to our customers, we’ve created an unrivaled company culture for our employees. One where diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences shape our work and fuel our evolution. One that is collaborative, flexible, and inclusive and provides employees with the autonomy to develop technology that’s accessible and secure for everyone.

As a member of the Core Product Dashboard team, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing features that improve the reliability, simplicity, and performance of our Dashboard! You will collaborate with senior back-end engineers, SRE, firmware engineers, and other full stack engineers to architect, design, and maintain software that spans Meraki product lines. The dashboard provides visualizations that allow our customers to manage and deploy their networks, switches, cameras and sensors while easily identifying and resolving issues.

What you will do:
  • Build intuitive and powerful workflows to solve important problems for IT professionals around the world, by collaborating with engineers, product managers and UX designers.
  • Solve challenging scaling problems to meet a growing user base and ensure the best experience and uptime.
  • Develop tools for customers to configure and monitor networking devices all over the world.
  • Boldly move the networking and security industry forward along a path of simplification, performance, and flexibility.
  • Help other specialists make architectural design decisions while evangelizing engineering best practices.
  • Be a unifying force connecting people and inspiring others to do their best.
You are an ideal candidate if you:
  • Have 7+ years of experience writing professional production code and tests.
  • 3+ years of experience in building rich web UIs with React (and Redux) and JavaScript or Typescript.
  • 2+ years of experience in Ruby-on-Rails, Python or other similar back-end languages.
  • Passionate about mentorship of early career software engineers.
  • Would thrive on a small engineering team and are excited to solve open-ended problems across the stack.
  • Are passionate about what you do and ignite people around you.
Bonus points for:
  • Experience or willingness to work on proof-of-concept spikes as well as in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Have working knowledge of network protocols used on both local and wide-area networks.
  • A background in leading and creating architectural designs.
