Who we are - our mission:

terralayr addresses the massive deficit in global energy storage.

The over-indexing of electricity generation from renewable energy sources leads to large volatility on the energy grid. The main problem is that wind and solar farms are fluctuating and, by definition, unsteady—there is no sun at night, and it is not always windy. This increases the need for flexibility in the form of battery storage systems to balance the grid in times when supply and demand do not match.

By buying and developing grid-scale storage assets and virtually aggregating them across a layer, we are creating the world's first energy cloud. Imagine AWS for energy. Through the flexibility we secure, we can market flexibility-as-a-service and hedging products/power insurance to utilities, SMEs, and industrial players and create virtual storage capacity for PV and wind farms.

What we are currently hiring for

We are looking for a Platform Sales Manager (m/f/d) to join our Strategy & Commercial team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the amount of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity on terralayr’s flexibility platform. Therefore, you will manage the complete sales lifecycle of partner BESS assets. Your contribution will drive our growth and strengthen our market presence in the energy sector in Germany and beyond. Reporting directly to the VP of Strategy & Commercial, you will be a key player in driving our company’s success.

What we are currently hiring for - Your role in more detail

  • End-to-End Sales Ownership - Take full responsibility for the entire sales process of partner BESS assets, from sourcing potential opportunities and initiating first contacts to negotiating terms and closing deals.

  • Sourcing, Prospecting & Relationship Building - Identify and engage with stakeholders to source BESS assets, understand partner needs, present terralayr’s value, and foster strong, long-term relationships.

  • Deal Negotiation & Closing - Lead negotiations to secure favorable, mutually beneficial agreements, and efficiently handle all contractual and regulatory aspects to finalize deals.

  • Strategic Insights, Market- & Customer Analysis - Analyze customer needs, market trends, and competitors to inform strategies and provide actionable insights that shape terralayr’s direction and product strategy.

  • Collaboration, Performance Tracking & Customer Satisfaction - Work with internal teams to align sales with company goals, track performance metrics, provide reports, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction in close collaboration with the product team.

What we are looking for - Your Qualifications

  • Experience – 4-8 years of full-time work experience in Enterprise Sales/Business Development, ideally in the Tech- and/or Energy sector. Proven experience in selling complex software products with large contract values is highly desirable.

  • Sales Skillset – Excellent presentation skills. Ability to create compelling narratives and analyses that resonate with external business partners and senior leadership.

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset – A proactive approach with a strong bias for action. You have proven execution skills and the ability to drive projects to successful completion.

  • Communication – Very strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and manage stakeholders across various levels of seniority and functions.

  • Problem-Solving – Superior problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver effective solutions.

  • Passion for Energy Transition – A strong interest in contributing to the energy transition, working alongside a driven team to build the future of sustainable energy.

  • Language Proficiency – Full business proficiency in German and English, further languages are a plus.

  • Location – Berlin-based with a willingness to travel frequently for customer meetings.
