About the Role

We are currently looking for a Spain-based Staff Writer to join our German team! This exciting opportunity within a dynamic and fast-growing start-up is perfect for a journalism and social media enthusiast who wants to showcase their skills to a large, highly engaged audience. We’re seeking someone who can create vibrant, original content about city life for our German Secret Media platforms.

Here's what you'll be responsible for:

  • Identifying compelling stories and generating diverse content ideas for our the assigned cities
  • Crafting engaging, accurate, and informative articles efficiently.
  • Ensuring all site copy and headlines adhere to editorial guidelines and our style guide.
  • Collaborating on an editorial calendar that balances news, reviews, and city-centric content, ranging from trending stories to planned campaigns.
  • Creating SEO-friendly posts (SEO training will be provided if needed).
  • Assisting in promotional efforts and collaborating with our Social Media Networking team under manager guidance.
  • Using analytics to refine your content strategy and make adjustments as necessary.

About You

Here's what we're seeking in candidates:

  • Native-level proficiency in written and spoken German is essential. A fluent English for internal communications is also preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in digital writing.
  • A keen understanding of what makes stories shareable on social platforms.
  • Proficiency with social and digital publishing tools.
  • A methodical approach to efficiently managing your beat.
  • A strong connection to the German lifestyle, food, entertainment, and art scene, demonstrating a deep understanding of its cultural nuances.
