Description

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (SQAE) is highly energetic that will require the ability to multi-task, have crisp focus, and excellent multi-disciplined communication skills. The primary focus for the SQAE is process improvement and process compliance while working as part of a self-directed team with the Quality Control Manager (QCM) to support each other’s roles and be a back-up for each other and able to work cooperatively, cross-train, and mentor each other. 

  • Be highly collaborative, participative, inclusive, and engaged with input on all activities performed throughout the company for the entire product life cycle including proposal, creation, and conception through aftermarket support.
  • Plan, execute, and direct activities so fundamental systems and company policies are following company, customer, and industry requirements and expectations.
  • Gain specific knowledge and experience in FAA Repair station requirements including all aspects of AS9100, design, and assembly and test environments to encompass the full product lifecycle. 


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform within guidelines and standards for the company quality management system.
  • Conform to all policies and procedures to support company AS9100 & FAA Repair Station Certifications.
  • Create, monitor, improve, and/or audit in multiple areas such as:
  • AS9100 process owner for all top level Ingenium AS9100 documented elements
  • Host and facilitate internal & external audit activity (IAQG management representative, FAA, etc.)
  • FAA Repair station liaison and process owner (FAA Chief Inspector)
  • Calibration & Calibration Records (gage/fixture/asset control)
  • Auditing, recertification, process, and product
  • Quality objectives & monitoring
  • New product certification & qualification (on-board new potential suppliers)
  • Quality Management Review (QMR)
  • Internal/external root cause & corrective action (RCCA) management
  • Contract review/Quality flow-down assessments
  • Have knowledge across space/aircraft environments and processes.
  • Have analytical and intuitive skills to delve deeper into aspects of production and prototype work
  • Create methods to conduct systematic execution of unique quality assurance plans for specific contracts and our compliance-based system that the company will operate. 
  • May perform inspection duties to satisfy the requirements for AS9102 first article and Delta first article inspection.
  • Be an active member of the Change Control Board (CCB) and Drawing Release System.
  • Gain knowledge and work with the team to ensure proper design and hardware traceability, offer guidance on new designs related to documentation and process control, and inspection methods. 

OTHER SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Ensure compliance to customer quality specifications, certifications, testing, and other contractual requirements. 
  • Create, develops, and implements quality improvement plans, programs, and procedures using continuous improvement techniques.
  • Lead investigations for problems, develops disposition, and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. 
  • Create disposition of non-conforming material; notify vendors about rejections and requirements for corrective action.
  • Define control points within processes; implements controls to include Quality Inspection Plans and Control Plans.
  • Lead quarterly QMS review presentations for the leadership team; lead and present to customer; lead AS9100 audits.
  • All other duties assigned by manager.



Requirements

MIMINUM QUALIFICATION

  • A.A.S. Degree or applicable experience; 5 - 10 years in quality control or related functions
  • Aerospace experience of 5 years minimum
  • Knowledge of configuration management techniques, hardware control requirements, manufacturing processes and methods
  • Able to read drawings and understand multi-level BOM’s
  • Able to use typical inspection equipment, shadow graphs, CMM, and CMM manager.
  • Knowledge of FAA and maintenance principles of an FAA repair station.
  • Understand FOD and ESD compliance.
  • Understand principles of lean and 5S in a shop environment
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) (ANSI Y14.5M)
  • Knowledge of certification/qualification testing per DO-160 or MIL-STD-810
  • Understanding of the requirements of AS9100.
  • U.S. Citizen (no dual citizenship allowed)

  • Temperature and noise levels in the plant may require use of PPE.

  • An associate must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
