Job Description

We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in managing our financial records, analyzing costs, and preparing critical financial reports. You’ll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge job management software and potentially help implement new accounting systems. This position offers the perfect blend of hands-on financial management and strategic thinking, allowing you to make a significant impact on a growing business in the exciting construction industry.

Responsibilities
  • Manage weekly financial record-keeping with meticulous attention to detail
  • Process accounts payable and receivable efficiently to maintain healthy cash flow
  • Prepare and manage payroll for our team of 10 employees
  • Conduct in-depth cost analysis for each project, providing valuable insights for pricing and profitability
  • Assist in preparing comprehensive financial statements and reports
  • Play a key role in consolidating financial information for year-end reporting
  • Utilize and potentially help implement new accounting software to optimize financial processes
  • Collaborate with external accountants to ensure smooth tax preparation and compliance
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the construction or project-based industries
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Jobber is a plus)
  • Sharp analytical skills with a keen eye for detail in financial data management
  • Excellent organizational abilities and effective time management
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new software and systems
  • Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively in a flexible work environment
