About the Role:

The Senior Director drives strategic direction, manages priorities, and ensures alignment with business objectives. This position is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of a portfolio of complex, global programs and projects and the incumbent resolves critical issues around program prioritization, resource constraints, and planning challenges.

The Senior Director provides strategic input to senior leadership, optimizes resource forecasting, and sets realistic expectations. The role fosters strong professional relationships across Product, Engineering, and management levels to ensure program delivery aligns with organizational strategy, and the Senior Director also mentors teams, ensuring a high-performance culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the PMO function.

  • Lead and oversee the development of project management metrics, policies, and procedures.

  • Oversee major business road maps and ensure project authorization and prioritization.

  • Scope, plan, and drive engagement on full life cycle projects.

  • Manage multiple assignments/projects simultaneously.

  • Facilitate senior-level decision-making by identifying risks and impacts.

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement department strategy.

  • Contribute to financial budget processes and support annual planning.

  • Provide Engineering Managers with data and tools for resource forecasting.

  • Oversee internal customer messaging and product road maps.

  • Manage project delivery within predefined goals.

  • Lead the development and enhancement of project management processes and tools.

  • Represent Engineering Project Management in cross-functional teams.

  • Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes and procedures.

  • Manage all phases of the project through the Product Development process.

  • Define key performance parameters and create variance reports.

  • Negotiate with Engineering Resource Managers for project resources.

  • Maintain compliance with corporate and public regulations.

  • Ensure staff receive training and resources to perform their jobs effectively.

  • Encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovation.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in managing projects and/or change management in a large technology organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, finance, business, or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred.

  • Project governance certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.) is preferred.

  • Strong relationship management, negotiation, financial/budgeting, and process improvement skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of the software development life cycle; Agile knowledge required.

  • Excellent communication, organization, project planning, and problem-solving skills.
