Job description

Overview:

BerryDunn’s Medicaid Practice Group is seeking a Medicaid Project Manager / Managed Care-Program and Policy with who will be responsible for the management, reporting, and achievement of project objectives, including the schedule, quality, resources, and budget for multiple Medicaid business initiatives and activities that state Medicaid agency clients may undertake.

 

BerryDunn’s Medicaid Practice Group focuses on supporting decision makers in state Medicaid agencies throughout the country in the design, development, financing, implementation, and evaluation of their Medicaid programs. Our team applies our knowledge and skills in the areas of, federal policy and legislative analysis, Medicaid program design and development, and information systems technology. Serving as trusted advisors, our contributions allow policymakers and institutions to focus on their objectives with the information and tools they need to make the right decisions to achieve their program goals.

 

This position can be remotely based or based at BerryDunn’s offices in West Virginia, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Arizona, New Hampshire, or Puerto Rico where you will help our Medicaid clients nationally. You will report to and partner with senior management in our Medicaid team both for client work and career development. With a growth mindset, you will drive your development with the support of a learning and development culture.

 

Travel Expectations:  30% to 50%

You Will:
  • Lead and support in the design, development, and implementation of Medicaid managed care and program and policy projects on time, within scope, and within budget, including assigning and managing staff, and creating work products.
  • Potential to lead projects focused on managed care, and Medicaid program and policy programs and initiatives
  • Deliver frequent, clear, and consistent communication to the client, team members, vendor, and direct reports
  • Develop, review, distribute, and present project status reports
  • Lead the documentation of project action items, issues, risks, and decisions
  • Oversee deliverable review facilitation, tracking, and maintenance
  • Lead staff/team meetings and trainings
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, including writing blog posts, attending conferences, participating in industry groups, leading/participating in prospective client business development meetings, reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and assisting with go/no-go decision-making, and developing responses to RFPs in collaboration with BerryDunn’s Business Development team
  • Coach, mentor and develop BerryDunn project team members
  • Experience managing project budgets, and estimate and maintaining resource projections for responsible project tasks
You Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred)
  • At least 5 to 7 years of public sector experience; experience with state Medicaid and/or health and human services agencies, and/or health plans preferred
  • Experience supporting projects related to Medicaid policy, Medicaid research, regulatory analysis, waiver development, program development, and stakeholder engagement desired
  • Experience developing, editing and presenting summaries, reports, and presentations of complex information and data for project(s) and client team(s)
  • Strong research skills, and ability to synthesize and present information from sources such as vendors and state and federal regulations
  • Strong experience with Microsoft desktop applications

 

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience working at one or a combination of 1) at a consulting firm supporting state Medicaid agencies, 2) at a managed care organization (MCO), and/or (3) at a state Medicaid or health and human services agency.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional® (PMP) certification
Compensation Details:

The base salary range targeted for this role is $110,000 - $135,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
