The Department
Autovista Group’s Group Technology Team is responsible for delivering technology programmes, projects and business as usual support for both our internal applications and external customer products that Autovista provides to the automotive industry. Group Technology supports Autovista Groups products in the market, that includes automotive support functions such as identification and valuation processes for multiple sectors including, dealers, insurers, lease providers, fleet managers and original equipment manufacturers (eg car brands). Group Technology Testing Services delivers quality assurance activities across the technology delivery lifecycle and provides information that supports release decisions based on knowledge and risks, and is a key function of Group Technology.
The Role
As a Group Technology Automation Test Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and adding to the existing automation framework, carrying out "Proof of Concept" (PoC) tasks for projects following established processes, whilst making suggestions for improvements. You will have the opportunity to carry out this function across simultaneous, multiple project streams.
Working with Programme & Project delivery teams, selected application & service suppliers, businesses, and operations teams Automation Engineers will adhere to the standards and processes detailed in our agreed Test Policies and our automation frameworks.
The Candidate
You will have relevant test automation expertise, are able to demonstrate support of project teams, specifically the implementation of test automation processes and frameworks, are able to assess automated testing requirements and provide implementation estimates that outline returns on investment, maintain the standard test automation frameworks and extend said frameworks where appropriate, can coordinate and manage Test Automation workload and report on the status of automation implementation within projects highlighting any risks that could adversely impact projects.
Knowledge of formal testing methodologies and be foundation ISTQB qualified is preferred. An understanding of known testing and quality assurance processes that are designed to provide test automation benefits is essential as well as knowledge of multiple Industry standard and open source test automation tools and experience in selecting, designing and implementing test automation frameworks. A Solid understanding of development, application management, and testing methodologies. You will be a good communicator and be passionate about automated test delivery taking responsibility for delivering a highly credible test engineering capability, and enjoy building relationships and collaborating with teams across the whole delivery lifecycle.
