The Information Security Policy / Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining comprehensive security policies and technical documentation that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of information security principles and the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development: Collaborate with the Information Security team to create and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain user manuals, technical specifications, and training materials for security tools and processes.
  • Research: Stay informed about the latest information security trends, threats, and regulations to ensure documentation is current and relevant.
  • Review and Edit: Review existing documentation for accuracy and completeness; edit documents to ensure clarity and adherence to company standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, and compliance, to gather information and ensure alignment of policies with business objectives.
  • Training Support: Assist in the development and delivery of training materials and programs for staff regarding security policies and best practices.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain an organized repository for security documentation and ensure accessibility for relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Technical Communication, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in technical writing, preferably in the field of information security or IT.
  • Strong understanding of information security concepts, standards, and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Confluence, MadCap Flare, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications related to information security (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Security+).
  • Experience with creating infographics or visual aids to enhance documentation.

Salary Range:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $78,000 and $98,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
