Product Manager - SaaS (Sustainability)



About the Opportunity:
One of our clients, a leader in innovation and sustainable practices, is seeking a Product Manager to join their remote team and lead the evolution of their SaaS platform. This role focuses on corporate and product-based environmental accounting and sustainability strategy. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in product management within agile software development, technical knowledge of software systems, and a passion for driving sustainability solutions in areas such as greenhouse gas (GHG) management and lifecycle assessment.

Location:
Remote (Preferred working hours: US PT – ET)

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related technical/scientific field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and refine the SaaS product roadmap, emphasizing sustainability features, GHG reporting capabilities, and alignment with industry best practices.
2. Agile Collaboration: Partner with engineering and design teams to ensure technical feasibility and deliver solutions that meet sustainability objectives.
3. Customer-Centric Development: Engage with clients and stakeholders to gather feedback, define user needs, and prioritize features to address emerging market demands.
4. Requirements Documentation: Translate customer needs into detailed functional requirements, user stories, and clear deliverables for development teams.
5. Performance Monitoring: Establish and track KPIs to measure product success, adoption, and market impact.

Required Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as a Product Manager in a SaaS environment, preferably within agile frameworks.
2. Background in sustainability, GHG accounting, or lifecycle assessment.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
5. Proven ability to manage complex projects and align cross-functional teams toward a common goal.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Technical expertise in software development, with the ability to effectively communicate with engineering teams.
2. Hands-on experience with carbon accounting tools, lifecycle assessments, or sustainability reporting standards.
3. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and trends in environmental sustainability and GHG management.
