Role Summary:                
The Employment Specialist (Better Jobs Ontario) provides information to stakeholders & administration support to various projects within Agilec. This role involves managing phone calls and providing overall support to individuals seeking employment. Assisting in determining eligibility, support service delivery, applications and follow-up calls for clients. 


The purpose of this job posting is to fill a vacancy.

Location:  This is a hybrid in-office/work-from-home role which can be based in any Agilec office.

Education:

  • Completed post-secondary education in relevant field from a recognized Canadian Institute, or its equivalent is an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in Human Services Field or other related field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with barriers to employment.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management, and customer service skills. 
  • Proactive and highly dependable. 
  • Adept at navigating different client management systems writing/updating case notes.
  • Intermediate-level computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of the various employment services programs & policies is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming & outgoing phone calls including client communications.
  • Maintain accurate client records, including interactions (case notes), schedule meetings, and document services in accordance with program requirements.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure seamless service delivery and effective client support.
  • Facilitate interactive, engaging virtual information sessions for clients.
  • Provide guidance to clients on the financial support available to them and assist with the application process.
  • Develop and maintain accurate database(s) to track and monitor allocation of financial resources, statistics and processes.
  • Provide leadership with other statistical information as requested, ensuring all program materials are relevant and up to date.
  • Distribute financial support to eligible candidates, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with program guidelines.
  • Conduct client engagement calls, serving as the initial point of contact for clients, ensuring all inquiries and concerns are promptly addressed.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering ongoing support throughout their employment journey as needed, while also collecting their pay stubs as proof of employment.
  • Develop & maintain a client contact tracking system.
  • Complete the Common Assessment Module 2 over the phone.
  • Collaborate with Employment Consultants across different locations to review the status of candidates who have lost contact.
  • Review and connect with Social Assistance referrals across all locations to assess their status, discuss plans, and facilitate their return to service as needed.
  • Develop and implement the Employment Action Plan (EAP), and schedule follow-up appointments for candidates with a local team member
  • Support candidates through the Better Jobs Ontario application process
  • Other duties as assigned


Schedule:  Hours are flexible within location-specific hours of operation. Extended hours may be required.
