Job description

What this Job Entails: 

The Technical Writer will collaborate with Astreya Partners’ subject matter experts to develop and enhance documentation related to services. The role will both compose new documentation and edit the work of others, ensuring high standards for readability, grammar, and content. The key to success in this rule is the ability to synthesize complex instructions into easy to follow guidebooks, instructions, and general communications. The person in this position should be an expert in communications. 

Scope: 

  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues

  • Works on problems of moderate scope

  • Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in creating and maintaining how-to documentation related to inventory management and IT logistics

  • Engage in developing collateral for a Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Participate in ensuring documentation is easy to read, grammatically perfect, succinct, adheres to standards, and is, overall, effective in terms of intended purpose

  • Participate in providing expertise to others in terms of effective communication methods

  • Develop narrative content along with graphics and diagrams

  • Develop and edit weekly communications to inventory technicians, for content related to change management

  • Conduct interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Builds productive internal and external working relationships

  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

  • Experience writing, proofreading and editing

  • Ability to produce and organize content succinctly, with a logical flow

  • Familiarity with content authoring tools

  • Understanding of editing and formatting technical documents

  • Knowledge of using a content management system or document management system

  • Passionate attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and be self directed, as well as the ability to willingly follow guidance from others

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with inventory management and IT logistics related services

  • Technical background related to IT

  • Familiarity using Google apps such as Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Sites

  • Experience working in an international setting

Physical Demand & Work Environment:

  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing

  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment

  • Must be able to use a computer

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively 

  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers

Salary Range

$26.90 - $42.47 USD (Hourly)
