Primary Purpose

The Qualitative Research Analyst participates in the preparation, execution, and reporting for qualitative research trials. The Qualitative Research Analyst works to provide expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, data analysis, and dissemination of results in the context of clinical research.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and conducts research studies.
  • Records and analyzes data and presents results to senior/other research staff.
  • Supports interview conduct and analysis by interviewing participants, cleaning and coding interview transcripts, compiling data, and managing necessary tools for these activities.
  • Records and analyzes data.
  • Ensures that quality standards are met and coordinates with other research, quality, and/or operations staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s in a scientific discipline related to clinical research.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in psychometrics, or a field relevant to research with human participants.
  • Minimum of 1 year working in clinical research.
  • Experience developing study materials for qualitative and quantitative studies, monitoring data collection, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and writing up reports of findings.
  • Competence in qualitative data collection methods, analysis, and reporting (e.g., interview, focus groups, thematic coding).
  • Competence in quantitative research methods, analysis, and reporting (e.g., clinical trial design, survey administration, interpreting statistical output, creating charts, graphs, tables).
  • Scientific writing skills.
  • Strong and clear understanding of responsible conduct of research.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with participants and caregivers in a professional and compassionate manner.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with observational research methods (e.g., video capture).
  • Experience interviewing study participants.
  • Familiarity with remote office platforms such as video conference and document sharing.
  • Proficiency in NVivo qualitative coding software.
  • Grant writing experience.
