What You'll Be Doing

Enterprise Wires Modernization (EWM) is a multi-year program that will implement a new modernized wire payment platform.  As a Sr. Consultant, Business Systems Analyst, you’ll support collaborative end-to-end project implementation and act as a subject matter expert in both business and technology following values, principles and practices of application delivery. You’ll participate in all phases of application delivery with a diverse team to create and build flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best in class client experience. You’ll lead complex projects to design strategic solutions aligned to CIBC’s enterprise architecture roadmap. You’ll ideate and collaborate with a diverse team to create and build flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience. You will need to have an understanding of ISO20022 format messages and fair exposure to Wire Payment’s landscape including Sanctions, Payment gateway and Operational data store. A decent acquaintance to modern technology (Cloud, programming languages like Java, SQL and JavaScript) will be an added bonus.

How You'll Succeed

  • Understanding and Documenting Requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complex business system requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs however ensuring feasibility of the solution is accurate. Conduct workshops to elicit requirements, create workflow diagrams and develop artefacts to support the project. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. Should be able to identify gaps in the workflows, business processes and solution design.

  • Solution Design - Build client-focused solutions that meet business system requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.  Perform detailed analysis of vendor solutions against business requirements and technology standards. Develop an end to end mapping of wires data and its elements across applications for stakeholders to understand and consume the elements related to wires transactions.

  • Leading and Mentoring – Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert, and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.

  • Relationship Management: Establish and manage relationship with internal clients, vendors, infrastructure partners,  stakeholders and/or senior and executive management; interface and maintain communications with Business and Technology management.  Develop rapport with vendor stakeholders for vendor applications.

  • Strong Leadership: Be a bold and authentic leader who is passionate about developing and coaching to bring out the best in people.  Direct, motivate, develop and manage performance of the management team and key staff.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or a related field, and you’ve spent at least 7 years in a BSA role leading projects and designing solutions. It’s an asset to have experience with payments project delivery, and Application and/or Architecture Development.  It is also an asset if you have demonstrated experience with CIBC’s internal Enterprise Delivery Framework and associated documentation standards.
