About the Role

The Corporate Development Associate plays a crucial role in driving the company's growth and strategic initiatives. This dynamic position involves a blend of analytical skills, strategic thinking, and relationship management. The associate will be responsible for identifying and evaluating growth opportunities through mergers, acquisitions, investments, and partnerships, while conducting in-depth market research and competitive analysis. They will work closely with senior leadership to develop and present strategic recommendations, perform financial modeling and due diligence, and support deal negotiations. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of new ventures and alignment with the company's overall strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and create business plans for growth opportunities (buy/build/partner), prioritizing and resourced based on strategic fit and potential value
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify acquisition targets, partnership opportunities, and industry trends
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential targets, investment bankers, and corporate development teams across various sectors (traditional finance, tech, exchanges, custodians, etc.)
  • Perform financial modeling, valuation analyses, and due diligence for M&A transactions, supporting deal structuring and negotiations
  • Prepare detailed analyses and recommendations for senior leadership and board of directors, including investment memoranda and presentations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategic initiatives, support portfolio company integrations, and assist in post-merger activities
  • Identify and evaluate international market opportunities, supporting the company's global expansion strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in investment banking(ideally M&A) or corporate development
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Strong communication, relationship and presentation abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • A focus on action and the ability to handle ambiguous problems in a short period of time
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first and fast paced environment
  • A deep understanding of financial markets and digital assets

Base Salary: The US base salary range for this position is USD $100,000 - $130,000. This range reflects base salary only, and does not include additional compensation or benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across all Canada or the US. A candidate’s specific pay within the range will be determined by various factors including job-related skills, relevant education, and training.
