Client built own tech stack to have scalable column-oriented database cloud solution for the backend of their service.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

Performance Analysis & Optimization: we analyze and optimize the performance of our cloud database solutions on Arm and Intel platforms. We identify bottlenecks using advanced profiling tools and methodologies;

Deep C++ knowledge: apply your understanding of C++ language features and best practices to write efficient, maintainable, high-performance code;

SIMD Programming: utilize SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data) programming techniques to accelerate performance-critical sections of the codebase;

Concurrency & Lock-free Techniques: utilizing lock-free data structures and algorithms to ensure high concurrency and reduce latency in multi-threaded environments;

Performance Monitoring Tools: use and leverage tools such as `perf`, `top-down analysis,` VTune, `gprof,` and others to detect and resolve performance issues;

Collaboration: work closely with a customer, clearly explain the root causes of performance bottlenecks, and provide actionable solutions and recommendations.

Education, Skills And Experience

MUST HAVE:

Experience in C++ programming, with a focus on performance optimization;

Python, at least for reading and understanding developed tests;

Proven experience in performance profiling and analysis on Arm and Intel platforms using tools like perf, VTune, top-down analysis, etc.;

Solid understanding of lock-free techniques and concurrent programming;

Experience with SIMD programming using AVX, SSE, and NEON instruction sets.

Would Be a Plus

Experience with database systems and SQL, familiarity with their performance characteristics;

Knowledge of compiler optimizations and low-level hardware considerations.
