Military Systems Analyst, Forecast International

The Role

GovExec is seeking a Military Systems Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be a critical player in updating and monitoring forecasts for military and defense systems produced and distributed around the world. Forecast International (part of the GovExec portfolio) has hundreds of production lines for a wide range of aerospace and defense programs, including military aircraft, rotorcraft, missiles, ordnance, warships, autonomous systems, armored vehicles, military electronics, space systems, and aviation gas turbine engines. You will join the team maintaining and updating this data. 

Responsibilities 

• Primary responsibilities will include researching, analyzing, and updating reports focused on various military systems. Areas of focus will range from military electronics to autonomous platforms to undersea warfare systems to armored vehicles and ordnance. 

• Develop a 15-year production forecast and update the Forecast International inhouse database accordingly.

• Participate in Special Studies and consulting opportunities as assigned

• Assist in developing White Papers and Market Perspective papers as assigned

• Support Forecast International’s sales team and colleagues as a subject matter expert

• Provide 2-4 news-driven pieces pertaining to the specific analyst area of responsibility for Forecast International’s biweekly Market Alert e-newsletter.

• Provide two monthly posts for Forecast International’s content site Defense Security Monitor, related to the specific analyst area of responsibility.

• Maintain a professional social media presence and support colleague work online.

• Potential to travel and represent the company as a thought leader by speaking on industry panels or directly with clients, and/or participating in media interviews. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's Degree. Knowledge of military aerospace and defense programs is a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

• Military or defense industry knowledge and/or experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with current events and industry news on military equipment and defense technologies.

• Skilled at remote learning and task/time management.

• Excellent research skills, including online OSINT research.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google products.

 The compensation range for this role is $60,000 to $65,000 per year.
