Job Description

As a Bookkeeping Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in managing client finances using cutting-edge accounting software. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the financial sector while contributing to the company’s expansion plans. You’ll handle after-the-fact bookkeeping, focusing on expense categorization and financial data organization. The role involves working with a diverse portfolio of clients, adapting to seasonal fluctuations, and developing your skills in bookkeeping and data management.

Responsibilities
  • Categorize business expenses from PDF bank statements
  • Clean and organize financial data on spreadsheets
  • Utilize accounting software including NuCash, AccountEdge, and QuickBooks
  • Implement company-specific bookkeeping procedures
  • Assist with quarter-by-quarter financial reporting
  • Perform data entry and coding of financial transactions
  • Adapt to varying workloads, especially during tax season


Requirements
  • Sharp attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling
  • Proficiency in Excel and advanced spreadsheet management
  • Ability to quickly learn and efficiently use NuCash, AccountEdge, and QuickBooks
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices
  • Strong independent work ethic with ability to follow established procedures
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple client accounts
  • Flexibility to adjust to fluctuating workloads throughout the year
