Job description

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Engineer is part of the hierarchical organization, reporting directly to Team Manager as direct discipline superior. Engineer is having strong ability in technical matters with profound knowledge of applicable Engineering principles and processes with an emphasis on safe, compliant, reliable, efficient and practical solutions required for the engineering design and execution of proposals and projects. Engineer acts as the discipline lead engineer for various projects.

General
● Executes in compliance with Discipline Manual and Job Manual during project execution to ensure that all contractual requirements are implemented and fulfilled.
● Ensures good quality of the deliverables for the design work.
● Estimation of Man hours and manpower planning. Ensuring completion of allocated tasks within allotted man-hours and schedule dates.
● Contributes to on time quality review of Inter-discipline documents and vendor deliverables.
● Contributes to implementation of safety relevant principles, standards, rules and procedures.

● Contributes to implementation of lessons learnt identified for the assigned projects..
● Supports the technical procurement activities for various types of equipment, Springs, Expansion Bellows, Any other components identified during stress analysis.
● Review and approval of Engineering SubContractor documents. Visiting Vendor’s office as and when required.
● Periodic training to Third Party Contractors about AL’s procedures and checklists.
● Monitor the Stress work progress incase it is outsourced to engineering subcontractor
● Mentoring Trainee Engineers by conducting occasional training sessions
● Providing necessary inputs for Pulsation Analysis to Vendor, reviewing of Pulsation reports and implementation of vendor recommendations.
● Extending support to proposals by performing preliminary stress analysis of big bore critical piping and estimation of special support, springs and expansion joint quantity.
● Supports reviews and approval of Vendor documents applicable for the Discipline.
● Site assistance through replying to site queries.

HSE, QA/QC
● Executes applicable scope of work in compliance with the requirements of the HSE Management System and IMS for the discipline/project.
● Ensures that the documentation is prepared, checked and approved according to Project Quality Plan and ready to be released by the respective Lead Engineer.
● Provides all necessary input to the lessons learnt process/capitalization and best engineering practice
● Ensure that Checklist is to be filled after completion of stress analysis of every calculation
PROJECT CONTROL / COORDINATION
● Communicates to the Lead Engineer status and progress of project’s schedule deliverables.
● Communicates man-hour spent per engineering package.
● Records and communicates all changes to original scope.
● Contributes to Change Management.


DOMAIN KNOWLEDGE
● Preparation of Stress Design basis (Guidelines) based on Site Data Sheet and other relevant codes applicable for a particular project.
● Preparation of Stress Critical Line List and Markup PID.
● Modeling, Analysis, Preparation of Load Cases and Supporting of Lines connected to Turbines, Compressors, Columns, Air Coolers, Plate Heat Exchangers, Tanks, Fired Heaters, Reformers, Reactors, Pumps, Heat Exchangers etc. and as identified in Critical Line List.
● Experience with various National and International codes .
● Perform dynamic / seismic / wind / slug flow analysis as applicable.
● Tagging and Location of piping supports on isometrics.
● Evaluate calculated stress results, displacements and pipe support loads.
● Prepare specification and requisition of spring supports, expansion joints, flexible seal boot, etc.
● Preparation of special support sketches and reviewing of SPS drawings.
● Review of Support MTO as per Project requirement.
● Support Tagging for the Non Critical Lines.

● Preparation of loading data for pipe rack, technological structures, Pedestals and other Grade Level Supports.
● Performing Calculations for Skirt growth, Pipe Trunnions, Slug force etc.
● Coordination with piping designers, Civil & structural engineers and process engineers as required.
● Preparation and Expediting of Stress documentation for each stress analyzed system.
● Responsible for checking conformity between isometrics, stress calculation and piping support drawings.
● Review & comment vendor documents such as equipment arrangement drawings, project drawings.
● Anticipation and Identification of risks and opportunities and recommend mitigations during execution
● Effective Communication skills with proactive coordination to manage interdiscipline workflow.
● Ability to identify cost optimization opportunities during project execution .
● Tool proficiency - CAESAR-II, SPR / Navisworks, Nozzle PRO, Auto CAD / Microstation
