Systems Infrastructure  Engineer – Windows/Linux/Unix/Virtualization

The role of the infrastructure engineer is to support all Windows and Linux related data center infrastructure and the customers who utilize our systems and services. This role will be to provide technical support in your area and work across the team to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget and that operational SLA’s are met and/or exceeded.  You stand behind your work at all times ensuring quality, compliance, and stability through documentation review and creation. Strong team collaboration skills, a sense of ownership, and the ability to address customer concerns in a calm and timely manner are paramount to the success of the role. This person will serve as an escalation point for junior technicians and will also be responsible for on-call rotation and On Call off hours support requests.

The ideal candidate is meticulous and uses industry guidelines to measure twice and cut once. You know and understand how critical all of the details are to ensuring compliance from Good Documentation Practices, Data Integrity, married with IT best practices and quality control. You appreciate the importance of paperwork and organization that comprises QC coupled with team collaboration and customer interaction.

Required technical skills:

  • Strong understanding of VMware vSphere environments as well as Windows and Linux physical    and virtual systems
  • Strong understanding of Server Technologies, Dell, HP, IAAS(AWS, Azure etc.)
  • Strong understand Storage Technologies, Volume Management, NFS, SAN, NAS, various vendor solutions
  • VMware ESXi / Horizon View / vROps
  • Active Directory
  • DNS/DHCP/TCP IP/IIS
  • Remote Desktop Services
  • Group Policy Objects
  • Spacewalk and/or Satellite server
  • Windows Server administration
  • Linux Server administration
  • Solaris/HP-UX
  • RHEL/OEL
  • Ubunto/Centos/Kubernetes
  • Basic networking: IP Addressing, Subnets, Routing, and Switching
  • Backup – Data Recovery Options and technologies
  • Automation and scripting experience (i.e. Chef , Puppet, Ansible or Terraform)
