As a Senior Staff Accountant- Consulting, you will be responsible for the Specialty Practice Businesses with financial operations in Microsoft D365, their financial transactions and accounting needs, as well as identifying any departures from US GAAP or the Company’s accounting policies and procedures. The Senior Staff Accountant – Consulting will be responsible for multiple business units concurrently. Monthly responsibilities will include, reviewing the financials for variances to prior year and current budget, tying out financials to applicable supporting schedules, journal entry preparation and review, managing of AR and AP subledgers, bank reconciliation review, and other necessary processes to maintain a compliant general ledger. Other responsibilities may include finance and accounting projects, GL conversion activities, compensation calculations for internal or external producers, and other ad hoc projects or reporting requests.
Your Impact:
- Review monthly revenue recognition accounting entries to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP, the Company’s accounting policies procedures, and ASC 606 obligations
- Review Client Agreements to understand revenue recognition timing as it relates to performance obligations
- Liaison with billing team to create customer invoices and ensure invoices are distributed to customers, including invoice submissions to Ariba
- Monitor Accounts Receivable, provide reporting and support Consulting leadership in collections efforts
- Review monthly results as it compares to budget & prior year and provide variance analysis for both revenue and expense to the assistant controller and controller for revenue and expense
- Set up new clients and ensure all required information is received
- Prepare month end close reconciliation and reporting for customer revenue, unbilled and deferred revenue, banks reconciliations, and any other ad hoc reports on an as needed basis
- Lead accounting conversion activities for future Consulting business acquisitions
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Assist RSC Tax department with gathering Consulting related tax information
- Develop and implement recommendations to optimize controls and maintain processes to detect inaccuracies
- Participate in ad hoc finance and accounting projects as assigned
Successful Candidate will have:
- Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience
- Accounting degree required
- Public accounting experience a plus
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, esp. Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel with ability to perform pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SumIF, IF Statements, and other formulas commonly used for research and reconciliations
- Exceptional organization and time management skills
- Self-starter, professional and assertive
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, challenging work environment
- Willingness to take on Ad hoc projects

At Risk Strategies Company, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings, The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $85,000.00 - $105,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
