JOB PURPOSE: 

You will develop & grow the Ice Cream portfolio with existing and prospective customers. As the Regional Business Development Manager your role’s primary focus is to lead and evolve the regional field sales team (3rd Party) within the independent leisure market, whilst account managing up to 5 top independent regional leisure customers and all in-direct wholesaler in your region.   

You will be Accountable for the execution of the field sales strategy to achieve annual growth targetsThis is achieved by the ability to provide excellent line management to the team, both in terms of performance, engagement, and development. To build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the OOH Ice Cream team.   

Externally you have the ability to network and build great customer relationships based on a deep understanding of their OOH portfolio needs is critical. Securing agreement to the Joint Business Plan (JBP) and the execution of this JBP to drive the growth for both parties.  

 RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Managing portfolio of new and existing customers, whilst leading the 3rd party field Sales team to deliver against the distribution and execution targets each month, quarter and year  

  • Responsible for driving the internal P&L delivery and external market share growth of all in-direct wholesalers in the region (currently 13). Lead the field team to executional success by providing the strategic direction for region, using market knowledge and outlet data to build plans to win share and deliver exponential ice cream growth.  

  • Account management of the national In-Direct Wholesale Buying Group (Ice Cream Alliance), sharing data, in-sights and opportunity to the national regional teams.   

  • Full end to end account management of a direct regional wholesaler within the region.   

  • Work cross functionally with all other direct regional/national wholesaler partners to grow distribution and availability of the full portfolio at an outlet level.  

  • Develops a culture of customer-centricity, with data and insight as the foundation for successful sales growth within region.  

  • Be the project lead for all proof-of-concept initiatives within the leisure channel before full national roll out.   

  • Management of the regional capex budget to deliver best ROI, whilst ensuring all existing Capex Equipment is tracked.   

  • Approval of P&L and investment spend/business cases with customers within Financial Framework and channel lead sign off.   

  • Leading large scale and complex contractual customer negotiations, working within Legal Framework with all existing and prospective customers.   

  • All administrative tasks are completed in full and in a timely manner.  

ALL ABOUT YOU 

SKILLS & LEADERSHIP:

  • Advanced negotiation and customer relationship building skills.  

  • Robust commercial understanding, P&L literacy - highly developed numerical and analytical skills and ability to derive insight from data. Demonstrate deep personal accountability for performance.  

  • Proactive and entrepreneurial approach to grow existing and win new customers ahead of our competition  

  • Effectively network, to manage multiple external customers and collaborate with internal partners to build value for them  

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.  

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office suite, but also able to demonstrate an ability to understand and utilise other sales systems such as PowerBi.  

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS  

  • A proven track record of managing multiple influential retail/leisure customers and building brand new opportunities, you will have exceptional account management skills to succeed.   

  • Proven track record in planning and prioritisation of tasks  

  • Line Manager Excellence, including recruitment, development, and training.
