What You’ll Be Doing

The goal of CIBC’s Capital Markets business is to be the premier client-focused wholesale bank based in Canada. To deliver on this, the Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides a wide range of credit, capital markets, investment banking, and research products and services to government, institutional, corporate and retail clients in Canada and in key markets around the world.

The Client Strategy team is responsible for marketing, events and sponsorships to support our corporate client relationships. We provide Capital Markets leaders with the support that they require to help increase brand awareness, enhancing positioning and drive deeper client engagement. When you join the Client Strategy team, you will be making a real difference for our global CIBC Capital Markets clients, our team and our community.

As a Client Strategy Marketing Coordinator, you’ll manage the day-to-day administrative activities in support of the Client Strategy team. You will also be responsible for managing one of our Vice Chair’s busy calendars and keeping everyone abreast of all of their speaking engagements. In addition to the day-to-day administrative tasks, you will have an opportunity to work on special projects as they arise.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Administrative Support - You’ll proactively screen requests and support with the calendar management of the Vice Chair. When doing calendar management, if conflicts arise you’ll determine priorities and pivot accordingly. You’ll process invoices, take care of mail distribution, arrange couriers, and take care of general administration tasks. You’ll maintain distribution lists and vacation schedules, and plan team events. In order to increase efficiency and reduce the potential for errors, you will identify any opportunities to streamline processes within the department.

  • Marketing Focused Support – You’ll take care of daily, weekly and monthly tasks to support the holistic marketing efforts, which are required to be managed in a timely manner. Some of the day-to-day tasks include: administration of marketing database to ensure up to date accurate details, weekly reporting on marketing activities, distribution of client ticketing for events and marketing inventory management.

  • Confidentiality & Decision Making – You’ll exercise the utmost discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; identify and raise issues where appropriate. Consistently apply discretion and autonomy to make decisions within generally defined parameters.

  • Relationship Building - You have the ability to deal with clients in a professional and courteous manner, and to develop and leverage strong professional working relationships. You function as a liaison between other internal departments and/or others outside of the firm as appropriate.

Who You Are

You understand the power of an inclusive team that enjoys working together to bring a shared vision to life. You participate fully and contribute to a positive work environment. You provide back-up coverage to others within the team when needed.

  • You’re technically savvy. You are proficient in MS-office suite of tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, web browsers). Experience working with firm systems and tools (Workday, Salesforce, Coupa, etc) and having industry knowledge is an asset.
