Summary of Job Duties:
The Audiologist will plan and conduct care, evaluation, and treatment to patients for hearing and balance problems, using advanced technology and procedures. The audiologist will work to determine the severity and cause of ear and hearing related pathologies and provide treatment options when applicable.

Responsibilities:
Conduct and interpret complete balance evaluations using state of the art
Videonystagmogrophy (VNG), Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP). Provide complete diagnostic hearing evaluations including tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, air and bone conduction threshold testing, as well as a battery of standard and specialized speech assessments.
Complete specialized diagnostic assessments, including aided threshold measures, AZ Bio sentence tests, and CNC word tests in soundfield, and interpret outcomes to make recommendations for cochlear implant candidacy
Plan and coordinate hearing rehabilitation activities including but not limited to: consultation, selection, and fitting of state of the art hearing aids, cochlear implants, bone anchored hearing aids, and assistive listening devices
Perform verification of amplification devices in an on-ear, probe mic fashion such as Speech Mapping/Real-Ear measurements.
Provide complete care for patients by servicing a wide range of hearing amplification devices for troubleshooting and repairs. Complete accurate and thorough chart notes and dictation in a timely manner
Provide patient education of procedures to be performed
Participate in ongoing hospital and clinical performance assessments and process improvement projects
Ensure continual department performance improvement and assessment. Create and revise work processes to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce waste
Adhere to UAMS Code of Conduct and Departmental policies. Conduct professional Audiologic services in accordance with the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Code of Ethics.
Adopt practices to improve work process, enhance guest satisfaction and reduce waste. Serve as a resource person to support department members in performances of duties
Participate in professional/institutional advancement
Actively participate in continuing education opportunities specific to the growth and advancement of the clinic and hospital
Accrue and record the required continuing education units to maintain licensure and certification for state and national organizations
Promotes a safe working environment by complying with department and institutional safety policies

Responds in emergency situations. Intervenes to unsafe situations by taking action
Participate in daily safety huddle to identify, assess, and resolve safety hazards
