About This Role
The Project Manager of Framing plays a critical role in overseeing the complexity of framing across various home tiers within MN Custom Homes' construction projects, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong attention to detail, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at problem-solving in the field. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, collaborate with subcontractors and field teams, and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders. The Project Manager of Framing requires both hands-on involvement and strategic oversight, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and maintaining MN’s commitment to construction excellence.
On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include
- Plans, coordinates, organizes, oversees all construction activities during the Framing phase of all MN Homes
- Lead, manage and own all framing activities for MN Custom Homes, ensuring each project phase is executed with precision, quality, and adherence to our high standards.
- Own the framing phase performance, driving projects to meet budget and schedule goals, while ensuring safety, craftsmanship, and efficiency remain top priorities.
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to proactively address construction challenges, develop solutions, and ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
- Oversee and manage daily field operations, including material procurement, inspections, and site safety, ensuring that all elements are in place for seamless project execution.
- Interpret blueprints and shop drawings, providing clear, actionable guidance to subcontractors and field teams to bring project designs to life.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, local authorities, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and a collaborative working environment.
- Monitor and maintain job site safety, ensuring all MN safety protocols are followed, addressing hazards immediately, and promoting a culture of safe work practices.
- Prepare, schedule, and oversee punch list completion, ensuring all remaining tasks are completed to MN’s exacting standards before project closeout.
- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of construction issues, working closely with subcontractors to resolve work procedures, complaints, and project challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance MN’s standard work processes, increasing efficiency and overall project success.
- Model and reinforce company values, ensuring that all actions and behaviors are aligned with MN Custom Homes’ mission, culture, and commitment to excellence.
- Participate in jobsite visits daily, assessing progress, collaborating with field personnel, and ensuring that project goals and safety standards are consistently met.
- Take ownership of additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall success of each framing project and supporting the wider construction team.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
- 4+ years of on-site Supervisory experience in construction
- 3+ years of experience (hands-on, supervisory, or a combination) with Framing phase in residential or commercial construction
- Hands-on residential construction experience in some capacity is strongly preferred
- Experience using scheduling software is a plus
- Knowledge of construction sequencing, means, methods, and code requirements
- Ability to walk a job site and accurately assess the extent to which safety, quality, and productivity standards are being met by subs and field staff
- Ability to review and accurately interpret engineering, architectural and other construction drawings
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and written and verbal communication skills
- Strong willingness to assist team members
- Ability to effectively (re)prioritize tasks based on competing urgencies or needs
- Ability to meet deadlines and make reasonable, rational, quick decisions while under pressure and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
- Proficiency with computers and smartphones is required. Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to self-direct and work effectively independently
- Ability to adopt MN processes and standards
- Some fluency with Spanish (read/write/speak) is preferred
Physical Requirements
- This position requires use of a computer, including keyboard functions, hand and finger movement, and visual acuity of 20 inches or fewer on a daily basis
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on occasion with or without accommodation
- Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders; role will also be required to traverse uneven or unfinished surfaces, and inspect all areas of a jobsite in all types of weather; may include positioning oneself in various ways to inspect confined or difficult to reach spaces or areas
Travel & Vehicle Requirements
- Regular travel between job sites and/or the office is required
- Valid WA State Driver’s License
- Acceptable driving record & proof of vehicle insurance

Hours & Compensation
This is a full-time position paying $110,000 - $125,000 + discretionary bonuses. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
