The Senior SAS Developer will be responsible for developing and implementing statistical code in SAS, focusing on healthcare claims and encounter data in Snowflake.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and implementing statistical code in SAS, focusing on healthcare claims and encounter data in Snowflake.
- Collaborate with project team to determine analytic objectives.
- Collaborate with other SAS developers, DBA’s to perform the necessary job functions.
- Provides analytic data development and statistical programming expertise and leadership.
- Perform complex data aggregations and calculations on healthcare claims and administrative data potentially involving hundreds of millions of records.
- Analyze and report on complex data.
- Develop innovative methods to analyze complex, multi-source healthcare data.
- Develop reusable, flexible, scalable and efficient analytic solutions producing results that are consistent and reproducible.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters in STEM Field preferred.
- 10+ years programming experience, including healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse, preferably with Medicare.
- Experience managing or leading complex programming tasks on projects for federal agencies.
- Experience with SAS Viya and SAS Enterprise.
- Experience with Snowflake.
- Strong analytical (numeric and logical) skills coupled with ability to make logical decisions.
- Sound knowledge of information systems and ability to learn and use new software solutions.
- High level of technical knowledge and analytical skill.
- Strong problem-solving, multitasking, organization, and time management skills.
- Prior experience with Center for Medicare Medicaid Services Cloud Services, Integrated Data Repository (IDR), and CMS enterprise tools (e.g., SAS) preferred.
- Experience adapting legacy SAS code for use in Snowflake preferred.
- Experience converting SAS code to Python preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of data analysis and data management techniques using R, Python, SQL, SPSS, STATA, Access, Excel, and/or other databases preferred.
- Experience with Tableau design, development, deployment preferred.
- Proficient in exporting SAS datasets to various data dissemination platforms, including Excel, Amazon S3, and Box are preferred.
- Experience with performance tuning techniques in SQL, Snowflake and SAS are preferred.
The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position, applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and market conditions.
