Title: Sr. ServiceNow Developer
Location: Remote - British Columbia, Canada
Duration: 3+ Months Contract with 12 Months possible extension.
Hours: 8/day

Job Description:
The Senior ServiceNow Developers are required to have the following skills and experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and administration.
  • Proven experience in developing and configuring complex ServiceNow projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow modules, especially IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM).
  • Experience working with end users to derive requirements, understand their issues, and provide effective resolutions.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AngularJS, and other web development technologies.
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, data model, and security model.
  • Experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, and other integration technologies.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, IRE, and the CMDB health and remediation rules
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.

Client Interaction:
  • Strong competence in working directly with end users to understand their requirements, issues, and objectives.
  • Proven ability to analyze end user problems and work through resolutions effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with end users and stakeholders at all levels.

In addition to the skills and experience set out above, the Proponents should demonstrate that the proposed Consultant(s) have the following additional skills and experience:

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Certifications:
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • Additional ServiceNow certifications (e.g., ITOM, ITSM, ITAM) are a plus.

The ServiceNow Senior Developer will be responsible for:
  • Designing and developing ServiceNow solutions, including scoped applications, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Deployment of ServiceNow solutions through various environments.
  • Develop and maintain complex workflows, business rules, UI policies, ACLs, script includes, and other advanced ServiceNow configurations.
  • Ensure that all solutions are scalable, secure, and align with best practices and industry standards.

Queue Management:
  • Self-directed to manage a queue of incidents, service requests, and enhancements, ensuring that work effort is accurately estimated and prioritized
  • Following a structured SDLC process from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with end users, managers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, define solution scope, and create technical specifications.
  • Update and maintain the queue, ensuring general performance targets are met

System Administration and Maintenance:
  • Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor system performance including integration health and discovery health, identify potential issues, and implement proactive measures to ensure optimal operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the ServiceNow platform.
  • Complete service requests associated with system administration, including group management, user management, and foundational table management.

Integration and Automation:
  • Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, and other integration technologies.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and processes using ServiceNow capabilities to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.

Best Practices and Governance:
  • Adhere to and refine development standards, based on best practices and frameworks for the ServiceNow platform.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and provide feedback to improve code quality.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all development activities, configurations, and processes.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with the latest ServiceNow features, functionalities, and industry trends.
  • Propose and implement continuous improvements to existing ServiceNow solutions to enhance performance, usability, and scalability.
  • Engage in regular training and professional development to maintain and enhance technical skills.
  • Raise awareness of improvements to SDLC processes, documentation, other platform areas.
