Accounts Payable Specialist

(Milwaukee, WI) 

 

Good Karma Brands (GKB) is searching for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in our Milwaukee, WI office. This teammate will strengthen GKB’s accounting team and play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the business by owning the daily Accounts Payable space. This person should be extremely detail-oriented and have strong communication and organization skills.

Daily Responsibilities of Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Review, verify, and accurately enter vendor invoices and credit card charges in a timely manner while ensuring proper account coding, posting date, and payment date
  • Perform daily bank activities such as ACH filter and positive pay checks
  • Process weekly check runs, ACH and portal payments
  • Maintain the master vendor file, including the setup and coordination of new vendor paperwork such as W9 and ACH detail to ensure compliance
  • Ensure accounts payable activity is current ahead of monthly financial close process
  • Be a business partner to operational teams such as Finance, Facilities, Information Technology, and Marketing for invoice approvals/discrepancies and vendor communications
  • Review vendor statements for past due invoices and/or discrepancies and correspond with vendors, as needed
  • Administrator for the company’s Corporate AMEX and WEX Fuel accounts
  • Own the annual 1099 reporting and filing requirement 
  • Assist the Director of Accounting with other tasks and system enhancements as assigned
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset and proactively seek ways to improve upon existing procedures and processes

Preferred knowledge, skills, and qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years full cycle Accounts Payable experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience working in Oracle NetSuite a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, prioritization, and organization skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Personal sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Persistent and driven to succeed even when facing challenges.
  • A multi-tasker with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Passion to be a part of a team as well as the ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information

 

  

Hours/Salary/Benefits
