Job description

Due to continued growth we have an opportunity available for a Motor Assessor to join our Motor Assessing team within the Perth Metro area, with the opportunity to also work from home.

This role will require you to use your industry experience to assess motor vehicles along with your customer service skills to negotiate between RAC, members and repairers; ensuring a fair and reasonable outcome for all.

What will you be doing?

  • Assess damaged motor vehicles and caravans and determine damage costs

  • Recommend cost effective methods of claim settlement in accordance with policy conditions, manufacturers repair specifications and quality expectations.

  • Provide consistent and efficient repair management practices within measured service and cost targets

  • Identify and inspect vehicles to compile accurate reports on the extent of accident damage and vehicle condition

  • Advise and review assessment reports to validate assessment of quantum position and settlement decisions

  • Adhere to Motor Vehicle Insurance and Repair Industry Code of Conduct

  • Provide exceptional customer service to RAC’s members and stakeholders

  • Overcome objections and handle disputes and complaints at first point of contact

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant trade qualifications in Panel Beating or Spray Painting

  • At least 2 years post-apprenticeship experience in the motor vehicle repair industry

  • Strong customer service, negotiation and communication skills

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Flexibility and enthusiasm in a professional work environment

  • Must have a current and unrestricted drivers license

  • Quoting or estimating experience within the smash repair industry is desirable
