What you will be doing
This role plays an essential part in managing reinsurance arrangements, ensuring that risk is properly ceded, and financial obligations are met. The role requires a mix of analytical skills, insurance knowledge, technical aptitude, and an understanding of the reinsurance lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
8-12 years of P&C Insurance experience (reinsurance experience highly regarded)
Strong understanding of insurance domain process knowledge in at least one of the functional areas:
Accounting
Claims
Policy administration
Underwriting
Reinsurance
Experience in analysing business processes, defining requirements, and developing solutions
A deep understanding of reinsurance contracts, treaties, pricing, and risk-sharing mechanisms (e.g., quota share, excess of loss)
Proficiency with SICS or other reinsurance systems, and familiarity with database management, data analysis tools, or business intelligence software
Strong verbal and written communication skills, as you’ll need to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to troubleshoot issues related to data accuracy, system functionality, and reinsurance treaty setups
Experience in managing or supporting projects, including system implementations, upgrades, or process improvements
Familiarity with the broader insurance landscape and terminology, especially around risk transfer and claims management
Understanding of regulatory requirements related to financial reporting, ceding, and reinsurance treaties
Preferred experience in pre-sales, RFP, RFI responding, providing demo to prospects and generating workflows of product functionalities
Domain certifications like III, INS, CII, CPCU (preferred)
