Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Licensed RN
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in area of expertise.
  • Some prior teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of function and ability to utilize IV equipment, computer, and all clinical equipment.

 

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

  • CPR Instructor Certification
Responsibilities:
  • Develops educational programs according to regulatory standards to meet ongoing training and development needs of hospital staff. Regularly updates staff knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • Designs as needed educational programs, course syllabus, testing materials, evaluation tools using adult learning principles.
  • Serves as the nurse planner for the NJSNA provider unit. Facilitates the curriculum review process.
  • Conducts selected programs for hospital staff.
  • Provides mentoring and guidance to leadership staff.
  • Participates on committees representing the education viewpoint. Consults with department heads on educational issues and facilitating education.
  • Motivates employees to improve performance through application of skills learned in the classroom coordinates bi-annual.
  • Departmental / hospital-wide needs assessment.
  • Participates in designing and measurement of performance improvement activities.
  • Consults as needed in writing hospital policies and procedures in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
  • Researches as required issues related to clinical practice.
  • Fosters networking of staff through professional organization contacts.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
