JOB SUMMARY 

This job leads the development and execution of the major Procurement technology tools/solutions including Project Intake, Contracting, Sourcing and if applicable Spend. This includes system functions, updates and changes to technology. Will be responsible for the system functions, updates and changes to the technology within Procurement. This could include: analysis/mapping of current state, mapping of future state, process improvement recommendations, support technical documentation as needed, collaboration with internal stakeholders, and collaboration with external teams such as consultants and vendors, researching and implementing technology change including adding new technologies and sunsetting technologies and researching, using and suggesting technology upgrades including Artificial Intelligence (AI). Collaboration, communication and adaptability are critical skill sets to this role as this role will be required to work with internal and external teams that require a lot of coordination. Will include Procurement technology solutions for any company under the Highmark umbrella, including, but not limited to AHN and all subsidiaries of Highmark.

 
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • This position is responsible for the system functions, updates and changes to the technology within Procurement for Project Intake. This could include: analysis/mapping of current state, mapping of future state, process improvement recommendations, support technical documentation as needed, collaboration with internal stakeholders, and collaboration with external teams such as consultants and vendors, researching and implementing technology change including adding new technologies and sunsetting technologies and researching, using and suggesting technology upgrades including Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Responsible for proposing technology changes for the benefit of Highmark to the leadership of Highmark and researching and implementing technology change including adding new technologies and sunsetting technologies that do not support Highmark’s mission
  • Identify and investigate continuous improvement opportunities to enhance collaboration between Procurement and internal contracting parties. 
  • Foster relationships with key cross-functional partners and internal stakeholders, and develop strong partnerships to obtain results on behalf of the department. Collaboration with others is a key component of this role. 
  • Responsible for leading large and small-scale projects in a timely manner as well as being part of a larger project team. Also could include the need in assisting with process implementation for any mergers and acquisitions of Highmark. 
  • High adaptability will be needed to be able to adjust workflow and project goals quickly while maintaining high communication standards and excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

EXPERIENCE 

Required 

  • 3 years of management or leadership experience 
  • 3 years of process management at any stage, specifically in the areas of Supply Chain/Procurement
  • 5 years of supply Chain/Procurement role working in different areas of the Supply Chain/Procurement.
  • 5 years of navigating, implementing and/or administrating Contracting tool

 
Preferred 

  • 3 years of navigating, implementing and/or administrating and E-Sourcing tool
  • 3 years of admin of an E-Sourcing tool such as Coupa, Ariba or another E-Sourcing tool in the Gartner Magic Quadrant. 
  • 3 years of managing, creating, and implementing process flows.

  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to champion Procurement technology and drive compliance and utilization of advanced features.
  • Strategic mindset with executive presence and organizational savvy.
  • Self-confident with an ability to accept and respond to challenges in a positive manner.
  • Manages change, ambiguity, complexity and drives for results Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, effectively presenting complex topics in a concise manner to audiences at various levels and in various sizes.
  • Broad understanding of business issues, metrics, organizational linkages and customer value.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills in addition to project leadership and management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of assessing and recommending creative and time-sensitive solutions.
  • Strong influencing skills that can be used to lead teams and build partnerships with internal resources and Highmark Health supply base.

 

EDUCATION 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, Liberal Arts or Industrial Engineering OR 5 years of related field or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.    

 
Preferred 

  •  Master's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, Liberal Arts or Industrial Engineering, or related field

Pay Range Minimum:

$78,900.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$146,000.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.  The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
