Summary of Job Duties:
The Trainee position is designed to support individuals actively enrolled in the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition at UAMS. This role provides hands-on experience and learning opportunities aligned with their academic curriculum and professional development in dietetics and nutrition.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Dietetics or any health or food related field.
Must be actively enrolled in the UAMS College of Health Professions, Department of Dietetics and Nutrition.
Demonstrated academic progress and commitment to the field of dietetics and nutrition.
Preferred Qualification:
Prior experience in a healthcare or nutrition-related setting (volunteer, internship, or work).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Knowledge of basic nutrition principles and practices.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare and nutrition services.

Responsibilities:
- Participates in supervised training, projects, or assignments as required by the Dietetics and Nutrition program.
- Assists with research, data collection, and analysis relevant to dietetics and nutrition practices.
- Supports faculty and staff in educational or community outreach initiatives.
- Complies with program policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all professional activities.
- Engages in interprofessional collaboration to enhance clinical and community-based nutrition services.
