Summary of Job Duties:
The Associate Professor will teach RISP 41753 - Mammography Fundamentals, a course designed to provide foundational knowledge and practical applications in mammography for students in the College of Health Professions (CHP). This position requires expertise in radiologic technology and mammography, coupled with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service. The Associate Professor will also contribute to curriculum development, mentorship, and departmental initiatives to enhance student learning and program quality.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education (M.Ed.) or a related field.
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
- Registered Technologist in Radiography and Mammography [RT(R)(M)] by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in radiologic technology and mammography.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of research productivity or scholarly contributions to the field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
Delivers course content for RISP 41753 - Mammography Fundamentals, covering topics such as breast anatomy, mammographic imaging techniques, quality assurance, and patient care.
Develops course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional resources.
Utilizes innovative teaching methods to engage students in learning and critical thinking.
Collaborates with faculty to ensure the curriculum aligns with current practices, industry standards, and accreditation requirements.
Incorporates emerging technologies and advancements in mammography into the curriculum.
Pursues research activities in mammography, radiologic sciences, or related areas.
Publishes scholarly work and contribute to the field through presentations, publications, and collaborations.
Participates in departmental, college, and university committees.
Mentors and advise students, fostering their academic and professional development.
Engages in professional organizations and maintain active credentials.
Assists in program assessment, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned by the department chair or program director.
