Responsible for managing day-to-day billing processes and procedures for assigned clients including submitting electronic and paper claims, troubleshooting resolution of solution billing errors, clearinghouse errors, and payer electronic claim rejections.
Responsibilities
Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper.
Troubleshoot and resolve/escalate billing errors occurring in the care record.
Research, resolve, and report on unbilled claims identified in the client billing solution.
Handle EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) transactions, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits and rejection reports.
Provide customer service support for patients, client administrative staff and insurance companies.
Prepare, review, and send patient statements to mailing service.
Meet defined productivity standards.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
At least 1 year of customer service work experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree
At least 1 year of medical billing, cash posting, and charge entry work experience
Medical coding certification
Maintain strict confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
