The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will work with the trauma/critical care surgeon and multidisciplinary team to provide care for trauma, critical care and general surgery patients across the continuum including emergency department, intensive care, progressive care, med-surg, rehab and outpatient clinic. Daily duties include caring for patients upon arrival to the emergency department, assisting with invasive procedures such as endotracheal intubation, or chest tube insertion, surgical operations, and critical care involving mechanical ventilation. Patients are cared for across the care continuum including intensive care, step-down, medical surgical floor, rehab and outpatient.  The position works closely with multiple disciplines to coordinate the care of the trauma/critical care/general surgery patient throughout the stay.

Educational Requirements:

  • APRN: Master’s degree with an Advanced Practice Nursing Focus and National Board Certification required
  • PA:  Master’s degree required with the appropriate National Certification.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Managing and Negotiating Healthcare Delivery Systems - skill in addressing the development and implementation of system policies affecting services
