JOB SUMMARY:
The CDI Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and subject matter expertise to drive the direction, growth, and operational effectiveness of the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) of e4health Hospital Based Customer. This role will guide the Customer in advancing CDI and Quality initiatives, ensuring that the team delivers high-quality services while improving clinical documentation and quality outcomes.
The CDI Director will leverage industry expertise, leadership skills, and operational experience to enhance service delivery, improve client relationships, and lead the development and implementation of educational programs and audits. This position will also serve as a key liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and maintaining strong, collaborative client partnerships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The e4health CDI Leader will deliver the following as well as other duties as assigned:
- Interview, onboard, manage, and provide education to the Customer’s CDI Team.
- Meet with leadership on a routine basis to share key performance indicators, customizable to fit Customer objectives, including for example: productivity metrics, physician engagement, query impacts including quality and revenue, data trends, challenges, opportunities, and successes.
- Collaborate with Customer Providers, develop and deliver CDI Provider education and CDI Provider Tip Cards.
- Update Customer CDI Roadmap to an Advanced CDI Program following e4health CDI Industry Best Practices.
- Initiate and Lead a new Pediatric CDI Team, including and not limited to in providing education to the team and providers.
- Potential to go onsite to customer minimally four times/year
Client Required Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current nursing license or graduate of medical school with 5+ years of acute care experience required; RN required
- Pediatric experience required
- Candidate must possess current ACDIS CCDS or AHIMA CDIP certification
- 5+ years of clinical documentation experience required with an acute care facility required
- Coding skills with working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and PCS and payment methodologies
- Minimum 2 years of CDI leadership experience
- Strong analytical skills to clinically evaluate the medical record
- Ability to independently use multiple computer applications for medical record review along with proficiency utilizing Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to communicate effectively with e4health management and all levels of client personnel
- Organization and prioritization skills. Effective writing and speaking skills. Analytical skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sitting, talking, hearing and near vision are required over 90% of the time. Feeling is required over 90% of the time and reaching is required about 50% of the time. The ability to travel to field sites may be required up to 15% of the time.
WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Over 90% of the time is spent indoors, with protection from weather conditions. Exposure to noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable is present in only unusual situations.
