Directive Consulting is the performance marketing agency for SaaS and Tech companies. We use Customer Generation (a marketing methodology developed by us) which focuses on SQLs and Customers instead of traditional metrics like MQLs. We offer Paid Media, SEO/Content, CRO, and Video to our clients by creating comprehensive digital marketing strategies that allow our clients to hit their SQL targets, every time.

The Content Strategists and Sr Content Strategists are a crucial, client-facing role that is responsible for day-to-day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating both with clients and internal stakeholders. The Strategists are responsible for more Enterprise clients and is expected to have a deep understanding of their service line and how it impacts other areas of business to create a holistic marketing strategy. 

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic Excellence and Best Practices

  • Develop and implement custom marketing strategies aligned with client goals and Directive best practices.

  • Utilize project phases, historical performance, and ongoing campaigns to optimize strategies over time.

  • Collaborate with Associate Directors (AsDs) to address roadblocks and ensure strategic alignment.

  • Craft creative briefs and ideate compelling content campaigns based on competitor and audience insights.

  • Apply proven frameworks such as LTV modeling, customer generation, share of SERP, and content production.

Goal Setting

  • Analyze data from sources like Google Analytics, CRM systems, SEMrush, and Ahrefs to establish measurable client goals.

  • Collaborate with AsDs to review and finalize goals before presenting them to clients.

Project Management

  • Oversee execution of strategies, ensuring tasks are assigned, tracked, and completed on time.

  • Utilize Asana to manage workflows, delegate tasks to specialists, and monitor progress.

  • Partner with content writers, designers, and project managers to deliver high-quality campaigns that meet client expectations.

Internal and External Communication

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, building strong, trust-based relationships.

  • Proactively communicate with clients about deliverables, timelines, and progress via Slack and regular meetings.

  • Keep internal leadership informed about roadblocks, growth opportunities, and account changes, such as strategy pivots or point-of-contact transitions.

Reporting and Insights

  • Prepare and present regular updates on client strategy progress, including:

    • Bi-weekly meetings to review Net Success Metrics (NSM) and ongoing deliverables.

    • Monthly and quarterly reports summarizing campaign performance.

    • Bi-annual business review presentations highlighting key results and recommendations.

Work Environment Requirements

As a remote-first company, you’ll have the ability to work from anywhere in the US, with the option to enjoy our state-of-the-art offices in Irvine, California. For some positions, as posted, we will accommodate global opportunities where we have established businesses, including Canada, the UK, and Australia. For global locations, you must have established and current work authorization and permanently reside in that country.

This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity tools as necessary. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication, must have reliable internet access, and a professional background.
