Investor Relations Officer

What we’re looking for:


We are currently recruiting for an Investor Relations Officer to join our finance and investor relations team in a public company with a very positive culture. Reporting to the CFO the Investor Relations Officer will have full responsibility for managing investor relations activities at Kneat. The candidate will be responsible for communicating the company story and progress to the investor community, leveraging a strong understanding of the landscape, and will collaborate with the CFO and executive leadership to advance shareholder education and engagement. The role spans from strategy development with senior leadership to communication and engagement with the investor community, along with insight gathering and analysis. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual interested in working in a fast-moving environment for a company that is growing rapidly.


Location: US/Canada - Remote


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead/manage a robust and cohesive investor relations program, designed to clearly communicate with the investor community, build awareness of and familiarity with the Kneat story, brand, key messaging on strategy, corporate initiatives, milestones and outlook as a rapidly evolving business, in Canada, the U.S. and internationally
  • Partner with senior leadership to define our external investment thesis and ensure alignment of that external messaging with internal operating plans and corporate goals
  • Foster, develop, and maintain a strong network of relationships with financial institutions, and the investor community with particular focus on the U.S. and Canada.
  • Draft press releases, work with the Finance team to prepare quarterly earnings releases, conference call scripts, presentations and Q&As, in collaboration with CFO, CEO, and disclosure committee and other cross-functional partners as needed.
  • Work with finance team and advisors to manage shareholder meetings and the AGM, etc.
  • Develop and maintain corporate presentation deck
  • Manage the IR calendar, including coordination of investor conferences/events, non-deal meetings, roadshows, and analyst interactions. Put in place a plan for regular communication with existing shareholders, and to target institutional and individual investors, financial institutions, bankers/ brokers, and research analysts
  • Prepare investor relations and executives team for investor meetings with timely and relevant background information and Q&A documents.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for existing and potential shareholders and respond to inquiries from investors, financial advisors and research analysts
  • Maintain active investor/analyst database of interactions with the investor and financial community and ensure that all action items are addressed on a timely basis
  • Maintain strong company and sector expertise, staying current on all company and related industry activity, as well as general market trends. Conduct peer research and maintain benchmark metrics
  • Undertake analysis to develop and maintain a target list of investors
  • Monitor financial analyst reports including sell side models. Identify discrepancies and provide appropriate guidance to help realign. Ensure the executive team is up to date on investor and analyst perceptions of the company and implement any necessary course corrections in messaging or relationship management
  • Partner with relevant internal stakeholders in relation to ESG Programs and formulate and maintain external ESG communications
  • Maintain and update investor relations section of public website regularly.
  • Work with senior leadership to put in place contingency plans for a response to approaches (hostile or otherwise)


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years investor relations experience, as in-house investor relations in software/technology, investor relations firm and/or investment banking/capital markets. Experience in a public software company is a significant advantage.
  • Strong academic record including, at minimum, a high-grade college degree, preferably in Business or related field.
  • Extensive network in the software/technology capital markets and investor community in the U.S. and Canada
  • Experience in delivering clear, consistent messaging of company story and business strategy across multiple stakeholders/audiences. Outstanding presentation skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience of business writing for investor relation/ capital markets i.e. press releases, call scripts etc.
  • The ability to use your strong financial acumen - to translate complex business problems into financial terms
  • Business, financial and investment analytic capabilities, including clear understanding of business and financial models, ability to analyze financial statements, and a good understanding of accounting principles, IFRS/ GAAP
  • Experience/working knowledge of public company disclosure requirements (in particular Canada and US)
  • High level of attention to detail; ensuring both numerical and written accuracy is critical
  • Ability to roll-up sleeves, multi-task and perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Passionate, curious, independent, high level of initiative and self-motivated individual with a positive team-first attitude. Comfortable being both an individual contributor and/or team player
  • Excellent judgment with a strong solution-oriented work ethic
  • Strong collaborator and partner with demonstrated ability to drive cross functional collaboration across multiple functions at all levels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Expertise in Excel is an asset
  • Experience of / involvement in company funding activities would be an advantage
