Salary: $301,600.00 Based on 1.0 FTE

Position Summary

Provides clinical leadership and oversight of the medical specialty within the Neurosciences division (including ambulatory and facility departments), ensuring high standards of care and compliance with medical guidelines. You will collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and administrative teams to optimize patient care, drive clinical quality improvement and manage departmental performance. You will play a key role as a content expert in developing and implementing strategic initiatives, while balancing clinical duties with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the quality of patient care and adherence to clinical guidelines and protocols and 24/7 hospital coverage in accordance with the bylaws
  • Provides guidance and support to physicians and APPs, mentorship to new physicians/APPs, and promotes a culture of collaboration and excellence. Evaluates and manages the performance of physicians/APPs, addressing issues of productivity, patient satisfaction, and professional development.  Addresses HeROs submitted with physician/APP concerns and supports improvement and accountability
  • Plays a key role in quality improvement, clinical documentation integrity, and utilization management activities. Actively participates in process improvement initiatives
  • Assists with the resolution of patient care problems such as patient access to care, emergencies and professional medical disputes involving patient care. Drives initiatives to support top decile patient satisfaction
  • Participates in the development, maintenance, and period reviews of clinical guidelines, protocols, policies, procedures, order sets, and information systems that support the delivery of care
  • Participates in performance measurement and process improvement activities; supports all regulatory/compliance statutes and works collaboratively with Quality personnel; works with physicians and administration to develop, implement, and monitor cost saving initiatives.
  • Supports and models teaching to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents, and fellows within the classroom, small groups, and lectures, and in the delivery of clinical care
  • Engages in outreach visits to support regional care and promote services

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  •  Licensure to practice medicine in Washington State as a physician
  • · Board certification or similar accreditation in one of the following: Neurology, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or another similar medical specialty
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Formal leadership training preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $228,000.00 - $332,000.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
