Special Scientist / Instructor - Database Management Systems

Cyprus College Limassol is seeking to fill part time positions of Special Scientists/Instructors for its “Computer Science and Computing programs”.  We are looking for qualified and enthusiastic professionals to teach in the following discipline:

• Database Management Systems

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow the learning and teaching processes as directed by the decisions of the College’s Council.
• Adhere to the academic learning model set by the College and deliver the curriculum accordingly.
• Provide academic support and mentorship to students in their education at the College.
• Collaborate with other College departments that have an impact on students’ learning experience and curriculum implementation.
• Teach and explain database design, SQL, and database management concepts.
• Conduct lab sessions to help students gain hands-on experience with DBMS.
• Evaluate students’ understanding and progress in database topics.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Practical knowledge in database design, administration, and optimization.
• Experience with DBMS platforms like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Fluency in Greek and English.
• Technology-oriented.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Very good interpersonal skills.
• Innovative.
• Team worker.
• Emotionally intelligent.
