The Need
For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Sr. Lead, Process & Strategy to provide leadership in division strategy, alignment, internal communications and portfolio management for the Global Legal, Governance, Risk & Compliance division (LGRC).
The Sr. Lead, Process & Strategy will lead in design and management of customer solutions and other LGRC initiatives, process development for the LGRC division, and divisional transparency and accountability.
This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Director of Legal Operations and Customer Solutions when hired, and to the Chief Risk Officer in the interim and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.
Responsibilities:
Process, Policies and Procedures
Establish, monitor, and continuously improve a divisional processes framework that enables LGRC to function, communicate, and report agilely and effectively as an integrated team of teams.
Lead the division to create a transparent process for tracking and communicating the progress and effectiveness of LGRC initiatives through dashboards or other means.
Lead the process for quarterly reporting.
Strategy, Leadership and Management
Lead the process of establishing annual divisional strategy, goals, and budgets.
Lead a process to set standards for determining what is “strategic” and serve a “control tower” function to ensure that all LGRC projects are strategically aligned.
Lead and advise on the selection, adoption and use of standardized tools for project management and other components of the LGRC processes framework.
Lead multidisciplinary teams formed as necessary to deliver on these or other responsibilities.
Project Management and Support
Provide project management support to the design and execution of LGRC “Solutions” projects.
Collaborate with LGRC colleagues in support of other projects.
Provide change management guidance and assistance to LGRC colleagues.
Networking and Partnership
Foster relationships across cross-functional teams to secure necessary support for new and ongoing initiatives.
Initiate engagement with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and inputs that inform project design and to marshal resources for project execution.
Training and Development
Build change management capacity within LGRC.
Build Agile practices capacity within LGRC.
Develop behavior change design expertise and build that capacity within LGRC.
General Tasks
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in pertinent area of study. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
Project management certification.
Agile certification.
Change management and/or Learning and Development certification strongly preferred.
Five-plus years professional experience in project management, learning and development, and change management.
Technical Competencies

Ability to work independently and with a team.

Experience with budgeting preferred.
