RTX launched oneRTX focused on leveraging the scale of our three business units to improve collaboration, cost structure, productivity, and performance. The oneRTX: Process & Systems Transformation (PST) project is one of several major, multi-year initiatives under oneRTX that align to our goals as a company and optimize how we work, how we operate and how we deliver to our customers so that we can achieve our full potential.
oneRTX: PST will harmonize processes, tools, and metrics across RTX, while deploying a common enterprise resource management platform – SAP’s S/4 HANA. The result will be a common user experience across the businesses, real-time visibility into critical data, and automation of manual tasks enabling all employees to focus on value-add activities. With processes optimized and harmonized, we will leverage our scale so teams across RTX can share resources, leverage talent seamlessly and identify efficiencies. We will reduce cost and effort and improve performance as we break down silos and establish consistent ways of working.
The Record to Report (R2R) value stream is the information network of our company. Within R2R, we capture and organize financial data, enable planning and risk mitigation, ensure the financial health of the enterprise, and provide metrics and financial analysis to decision-makers in the Company. R2R includes a large portion of the finance organization including Accounting & Controllership, Financial Planning, Tax, and Treasury functions. Within the R2R value stream, our project is organized into three towers: Accounting, Costing, and Functional.
Associate Director, Enterprise Services Accounting Tower Lead
The Enterprise Services Accounting Tower Lead is responsible for engaging with RTX business process leaders to design the future accounting and finance processes for the Company, representing the interest of the Enterprise Financial Services Team. The Accounting Tower includes financial reporting, general ledger and period close, intercompany, payroll and timekeeping, and other key finance processes.
What You Will Do
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with the other Corporate and Business Unit accounting tower leads to develop and coordinate an overall approach for accounting and finance processes across multiple business units, ensuring alignment and consistency in processes and practices.
- Lead the design of an accounting and finance approach that enables RTX to operate with more common, collaborative, and interoperable processes & systems.
- Ensure alignment across accounting areas, including revenue recognition, general ledger and period close, financial reporting, intercompany accounting, payroll and timekeeping accounting and fixed assets driving cohesive integration and common processes.
- Influence key decision-makers on critical system design choices for costing, providing expert guidance to shape the Company’s overall approach to financial operations.
- Engage with RTX’s system integration partner, leading system blueprint and design sessions to ensure the accounting and finance processes are fully integrated with broader systems and tools.
- Partner with RTX Business Units, Enterprise Services and Corporate Functions on development of future state process improvements.
- This role will require ~ 25%-40%, primarily to Farmington, Connecticut and other major RTX US sites (Richardson, TX, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Charlotte, NC).
Qualifications You Must Have
- A University Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience.
- At least 10 years’ experience with aerospace and defense industry and the R2R value stream finance functions, with a focus on accounting and finance processes.
- At least 10 years’ experience in a role/roles working to influence others’ acceptance of new approaches and ways of working together, while remaining open to new concepts, practices, and approaches.
- At least 10 years’ experience with SAP other ERP software systems as well as MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.

Work Location: Remote or Hybrid primarily based near Farmington CT
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
