GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director, General Accounting (Controller) oversees operational accounting functions for the company including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, global banking, accounting system administration, supervision of staff and security to ensure timely month end close and accurate reporting for the company. This position also heavily participates in Compliance.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Under the general direction of the Senior Vice President Accounting, the Director, General Accounting (Controller) has frequent contact with associates at all levels throughout the organization; works closely with executive team members on various projects; has frequent contact with vendors; limited contact with hotel members.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Oversee the activities of the general accounting department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
B. Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data.
C. Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate his/her financial needs.
D. Oversee administration of global bank accounts and corporate credit card program.
E. Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
F. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
G. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
H. Lead and manage accounting, global banking, reporting, disbursements and payroll staff
I. Work with our tax partners (Grant Thornton) to assure corporate income tax compliance
J. Supervise all financial reporting and audit functions
• Provide timely monthly financial statement package to Executive Management
• Manage the annual external audit, including audit for PHG China entity
• Prepare the annual financial report and related disclosures
• 401K benefit administration, audit, financial statement and filing
• Corporate shareholder information, dividends and related tax reporting

QUALIFICATIONS
Worker characteristics are normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in accounting; 10 plus years of experience in financial accounting and reporting. CPA strongly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This role follows a hybrid working model, with a base out of the Preferred Travel Group Newport Beach, CA office. Associates are generally expected to work from the office 2-3 days per week, allowing for a balance of in-person collaboration and flexible remote working. Working environment is a class-A professional office building. Office space is beautifully as well as functionally decorated including all required technology tools. Employee is seated most of the time.

Salary range: USD $110,000-140,000 annually; actual compensation within this range will be determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise.
