Great American P&C IT Services is currently seeking an Emerging Technology (ET) Product Owner to work fully remote from the USA and join an evolving ET Organization! This is a rare opportunity to get into a group on the “ground floor” and help shape the way GAI delivers cutting edge technology solutions to our business units. The ET Product Owner is a mission critical member of the ET organization, responsible for defining features, user stories and prioritizing the team’s backlog of emerging technology opportunities. You will be an ET Champion, interacting with GAI business units to further refine opportunities through ideation sessions, gather in depth requirements and analysis, ensuring work is getting ready for your pod(s). You will partner closely with the ET Product Manager and your pod(s), seeking input from stakeholders, while you manage and prioritize the pod(s) backlog. Opportunities that you will execute could be things like AI/ML & Cognitive tech, Computer Vision, Hyperautomation, Smart Contracts, IoT, Chatbots and many more – the sky is the limit!
Your pod will deliver everything from Proof of Value / Technology, perspective on emerging trends to data analysis; all in effort to enable Great American business units and to ensure ET is helping to shape the future via next generation technology.
Your Impact
- Innovation Leader: Define and prioritize features, user stories, and the team’s backlog, ensuring that each initiative aligns with our strategic goals and delivers maximum value.
- Collaboration Champion: Engage with business units, conduct ideation sessions, and gather in-depth requirements to refine opportunities, making sure that our solutions meet the needs of the marketplace.
- Technology Advocate: Partner closely with ET Product Managers and your teams, managing and prioritizing backlogs while seeking input from stakeholders. Execute projects in areas like AI/ML, Cognitive tech, Computer Vision, Hyperautomation, Smart Contracts, IoT, and Chatbots.
Your Role
- Create detailed features and user stories, ensuring clarity and alignment with business objectives.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to drive product adoption and ensure seamless integration into existing workflows.
- Provide vision, goals, and context for your teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Ensure the backlog is transparent, visible, and well-prioritized, keeping the team focused and productive.
- Serve as the point of escalation for business concerns, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and deliver engaging sprint demos, showcasing the value and impact of new technologies.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience required.
- Prior experience in hands on software delivery experience preferred
- Prior experience in strategy development is preferred
- Prior experience with product owning one or more projects preferred
- Prior working knowledge of Agile Frameworks, preferably Scrum and/or SAFe
- Genuine curiosity and passion for all things technology to apply the industry trends into an Enterprise environment.
- Ability to influence, energize a highly technical team and foster buy in at all levels
- Strong communication skills: verbal, written, listening to various levels across the organization
- Prior management experience preferred
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred
- Prior experience within the P&C industry is preferred.

Salary Range:
$124,000.00 -$166,000.00
